I don't do audiobooks, and like Legolas I hate podcasts. I prefer to read the information myself.
On a similar note, people in public with their earbuds in, listening in their personal bubble to playlists, podcasts, audiobooks, etc. have become ubiquitous. At the gym, you have to wait for someone to be looking at you before you can speak to them otherwise they won't hear. If they're blocking an aisle in a store, they likewise are oblivious to repeatedly saying "excuse me" unless they look up.
It really grinds my gears, to quote Peter Griffin.
