So, yeah, no surprises on the general opinion of the Global South blaming Israel. Israel did demand that 22 hospitals be evacuated, sort of an absurd demand even in times of peace. I think those 22 facilities cover about half of all hospital beds in Gaza. However, what sticks in my mind at this point - and baffles me as to why no one else has picked it up - is the sheer destructiveness and lethality of the explosion. Like you, I think that’s the best way to describe it for now. I’m not aware of any Israeli airstrikes that have had such an effect so far. And the idea that one of Hamas’ home-made rockets could have produced such an explosion, even if all the propellant contributed to the blast, is hard to believe. I’m left wondering about an arms stash or, possibly, a natural gas leak. Not even sure they have natural gas, though. Finally, I’m not really inclined to think much of the narrative of either the terrorist scumbags or the war criminal scumbags. What a morally repellent lot they both are.
