I do however like that they've sort of given Ishamael's Moridin's later personality rather than the stereotypical megalomaniac nutcase that was early books Ishy. In fact you might say that about the villains in general on the show - they are mostly a lot more reasonable than in the books.
"I have encountered those two people on the road twice now. Arrest them, the girl is probably a channeler."
Also, Liandrin likes Nynaeve, apparently. Nothing else explains her actions, and nothing in Nynaeve's depiction explains anyone liking her.
The thing with Ishamael is how are they going to use this more developed guy? Kill him off early on, as was the case with Baalzamon, which kind of negates a lot of the effort of developing him, or let him hang around impotently, and losing credibility as time goes on and viewers start to realize he isn't really doing anything effective against the good guys. So far the sum total of his actions has been to hasten them on their journey to becoming heroes and play a prank on Moiraine which relies entirely on the good guys never learning something very fundamental about channeling. So fundamental a non-channeler can get it.
