There’s a plaque on the building stating the highest wind speed ever recorded in the continental US was there.

The buildings on the summit are literally chained to the ground due to the winds. We went there on a warm summer day with temps in the low 80s. At the top, it was 44 and windy.

Meanwhile last night it dropped down to -6F, -21C here in Connecticut. Too damn cold, even if for just one night!
