Yeah you know that's not close to accurate. Pretty much completely B.S. When you're a peak-performance athlete you're probably closer to 'almost every day is a work day' than a nine-to-fiver like me.

Otherwise I get where you're coming from but if I put myself in there shoes for a minute: if someone at my job fell over dead I probably would take the rest of the day off, UNLESS it was launch day or something like that.

Game day for a pro athlete is more like launch day for a NASA engineer. It's a must perform day. I honestly believe the only 'surprise death' that would delay a launch would be if one of the crew died before launch. Maybe those more sympathetic to the game postponement would say that losing a star player on game day would be like losing an astronaut on launch day.
