She analogizes some people's complaints about this adaptation to her issues with Hulu's dramatization (or retelling) of a true story of murder among Mormon fundamentalists called Under The Banner of Heaven.

I had a lot invested in this story. I knew the story really well. I came into that show with the knowledge piece. For me, the show really missed the mark. I realize that yes other people have an interpretation of the story and the way they want to tell it and that was valid but I realized there's a sort of pain in not seeing your vision on the screen because you wanted it. Not to invalidate someone else's vision but I realized that I wanted something out of this show, it matters to me, and if it's not meeting those expectations there can be a frustration and they're never going to make another show about this, there's only going to be one, and for me, they focused on the wrong things and it's ok to kind of mourn that a bit.

I'm not invested in this show. I liked LoTR and Hobbit, was very happy with Peter Jackson's LoTR and disgusted by his Hobbit, but don't care at all about this show. Way saltier about how Jackson screwed up Hobbit than I'll ever be (immeasurably small amount) about this show, which would have fun if it was good but man there are so many things out there that are good.

I'm re-watching The Wire, dude.
