In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Wayne Che Yip made the following comment:

"Tonally, we wanted to reflect the main story points of good and evil. One of the ideas is, how far into the darkness are you willing to go to do the right thing?"

No. Just...no.

That is the antithesis of Tolkien. that using evil to defeat evil only accomplishes replacing one Dark Lord with another is, if anything, the central theme of his writings.

I fear this show will be every bit as disappointing as TWOT.
