But I admit I'm sickened by the events of Jan. 6th and the lead up to them. However you categorize what happened, once it became obvious that trespass, property destruction, and violence, were being committed by people who claimed to be acting in support of the President and in his behalf, it was incumbent upon him to disavow their actions and order them to disperse. Which he most definitely did not do. That inaction was reprehensible.
I'm also sick to death of supposed moral equivalencies. Who gives a shit which was worse of two disparate illegal actions? The inaction of the police during BLM and Antifa riots was driven by knowing their mayors and prosecutors didn't have their backs, so why risk injury or worse? But the inaction on Jan 6th was driven by the still sitting President refusing to constrain the excesses of his supporters. Not.The.Same.
On the positive side, the hearings have led to making some Republican members of Congress "uncomfortable" with what happened. Not much, but it's a start.
