Likewise lets bring it closer to home and make it more concrete (less Angels on Pins)
Currently there is an Idaho state congressman (who has yet to introduce a bill but announced this week, his name is Brent Crane`), and a Louisiana State Bill`` that has already gone through committee 7-2 who has defined Life in this way, once conceived it is life and the LA state can do homicide charges if that life dies.
`House State Affairs Committee Chairman Brent Crane, R-Nampa, said he would hold hearings on legislation banning emergency contraception and abortion pills during a Friday interview with Idaho Public Television.
``On Wednesday, Louisiana's House Committee for the Administration of Criminal Justice passed House Bill 813, which was authored by Republican state Representative Danny McCormick. The bill, which is being called the "Abolition of Abortion in Louisiana Act of 2022," says that the state should "Fully recognize the human personhood of an unborn child at all stages of development prior to birth from the moment of fertilization."

We the US, we are a big country with 50 different states, and 7410 State Legislators before other positions like Governor and Attorney General. That is a lot of people and some of them are "nuts"
It is happening!
...and in Alaska, Colorodo, DC, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, and Vermont, there are no State restrictions on late-term abortions.
In Virginia in 2019, a bill was proposed to remove restrictions on performing late-term abortions from three doctor sign-offs down to one.
If your point is that there are extremes, than I give that to you. In fact, it is a point in favor of removing Federal jurisdiction.
It is my argument that the more complex an issue is, the more numerous the solutions need to be explored to find a proper way forward.
