(Chris Rufo is the one who pioneered the groomers language.)
Some of the above terms I listed have been used to justify the deplatforming of the likes of Dr Robert Malone, because of his anti-establishment perspective on Covid origins and criticisms of the novel vaccine
Some of the above terms I listed have been associated with Andy Ngo, a journalist who focuses on covering Antifa activity. Antifa members have continually targeted Andy with threats of violence (on Twitter) and he was injured at least once in a major way (brain injury) on one altercation.
To your point, much of the hoopla surrounding the term "groomer" is related to the intent of schools indoctrinating, pushing, promoting, offering sex ed to grade-school children. This prompted the infamous bill in Florida restricting sex ed to children until they are older. This has been lambasted as the "Don't Say Gay" bill.
This is likely due to the interpretation that restricting sex ed also restricts LGBTQ education. It is also likely that this has become an issue in the first place because the implementation has been shown to overemphasize LGBTQ issues, giving a warped view of how the world is actually structured to many children who do not have a solid grasp on that structure.
Regardless of the intent/interpretation, it is still false to call it "Don't Say Gay," since it is specifically about sex ed. Should that term be restricted on Twitter?
We are living in different worlds, just because you do not see shit does not mean it has not been foreclosed on. The same power that gives Twitter to ban ISIS / ISIL is what gives Twitter the power to ban hateful stuff and also just stuff which is “spam”
False equivalency, but... should they have been blocked?
