Yes, there are a lot of problems with the production and choices made on the script, but seriously, it's a no win situation. The source materials.....dialogue, prose, characters, men vs women, etc., are smoothed out in the minds of readers, but smash you in the face on the screen.
As you pointed out, there are so many clichés and awkward writing, it would take a genius to successfully adapt WoT.
