as I did expect more than this and I do feel like they have ground to make up in the next episodes to really get me on board. If it keeps being this mixture of 'eh, good enough' elements with a handful of 'wtf is this nonsense' ones, my patience also won't be infinite. Despite GoT's infamous trainwreck final season (which I haven't even seen), it had some truly excellent character scenes in the earlier seasons - if we can get anything like that on this show, even if it's only on occasion, it'll be worth it.
I guess I'm not the type to decide that quickly about any show - I know enough shows that started out shakily but became much, much better later on. And I knew beforehand that there'd be a number of changes that would irritate me as a fan of the books. Sure, I wasn't expecting those changes to be as dumb as the Perrin's wife thing, but let's hope most of the other ones moving forward aren't that bad...
