Which is exactly why there was no attribution. Rather than discussing the quote, it's dismissed due to negative opinions about the source.
I know that and I get that, hell I half respect that
But the type of argument style he argues for in that quote is that of a preacher. Even without the name you can read it in the writing. It is Teleological, it is working from backwards premises and that is what all apologetics does.
Teleology is a form of religious thinking instead of a normative style of thinking, it is very brittle, it is all or nothing, it is psychological splitting and a form of grief where you try to “negotiate” reality by bargaining with it.
A little Edmund Burke is a good thing, too much creates a monster with this religious type of pursuit.
You can not separate ideals from the material world, for the material world is full of contradictions and the context matters. The superstructure can not exist without knowing about the base and how it exists at that moment. When one says Ontology, this is the nature of conservatism, this is the soul of it, the study of “being” I counter and say this is Phenomenology the study “appearances” and how we experience those experiences from a 1st person “experience” which is distinct from the being. Phenomenonlogy being philosophy which grapples with trying to study the science of phenomena (appearance) as distinct from that of the nature of being.

Anglo American Conservatism is social construct, it is literally in the name!
