I just watched a video essay about three movies that channeled the 60s into the 90s and 00s. The 60s a time for new thinking where everything felt modern and futuristic. Yet the three movies were all about Nostalgia and thus are about a return to this, thus providing orthogonal contradiction to what was so liberating of the 60s. Trying to do A but in reality doing B. The earth and the sky eternally separated, except when the rain occurs, the tears uniting two hearts as one.
I invoke this time of the 60s to signify the present will not always be like the now, sometimes we try new things, other times we feel lost, like we are trapped in an eternal groundhog day.
Who knows what the future brings? We are in the twilight hour, not day, not night, but now. But that has always been the case, it is only human perception that says reality is only A or only B and not the true experience of AB.
