The sort of person who doesn't give a shit about anything other than prolonging a bullshit facsimile of human existence with a DIY Gulag system imposed by fiat dictatorships, is the one for whom people are numbers. You guys are the ones who want to flatten curves and care about fatality rates and don't care about ruining their lives or dreams, because if we reduce them to dependency on institutions, that supports your numbers games and policies and makes it easier to keep track of them.

Everyone is going to die. Period. There is no getting around that, or even putting it off for very long. The point of your life is to prepare for death. Destroying people's ability to do that in hopes of prolonging a meaningless existence a short while longer is what happens when you only see people in terms of numbers.
