In ST: Enterprise, it was very much Human vs. Vulcan. This is a rather notable plot point/character issue for the start of the show. The story takes it into account as it was a long time between invention of warp tech by Cochran to having a warp capable ship...so the tech is close to what we may build now if we were warp capable. The ship is wildly out-gunned. Although they have a Transporter, they are loath to use it (they don't fully trust it). They have a kitchen and a chef...stewards & people to clean the ship. And I think that the farthest that they ever get from Earth is like 60 light years (which is nothing comparatively speaking). It has a very human approach.

You bring into the conversation something interesting...our current societal perspective plays strongly into how we view things. An example is if you go and watch Next Gen....it's almost too happy. It seems almost cheesy now. Whereas DS9 which was criticized for being too dark or heavy, now seems very on point.

Yeah...I know that CBS streaming services is available for a bit, but I am loath to sign up for it. I think that it is because I like the capability to watch my shows/movies without the need for the internet. Even the vast majority of my gaming can be done internet free....
