I think you know as well as I do that competant leadership at the federal level is required to return to any kind of normalcy. Scattershot reactionary steps like we have now, with no coherent long term thinking, will mean, quite simply, that nothing will change till we get a vaccine. Actually, well after that, since I have no hopes for a quick ramp up in production and a nationwide vaccination plan.
So I've begun to plan for myself. I live alone too, and have found the limited online contact I have to be great, but insufficient. So I'm going to pack up stuff and move to stay with a cousin who also lives alone. It's gonna be a fairly long drive, but worth it.
I'll be camping, and going armed to the teeth with stuff to minimize contact with the external world.
I'd urge you to see if you can co-habit with someone else. For me, at least, living so isolated is not sustainable long term, in terms of mental health. I can see destructive patterns of behavior winning out eventually.
For now, to cut down on food, I've been following a strictly enforced one meal a day diet. And trying my darndest to walk 4-5 miles at least three times a week, with surprising success.
