They listened to the news, heard a snippet of what was said, made an assumption that what was said equated to their fish tank cleaner, ingested it on their own, and reaped the results.
Trump did not say "Take this now." In fact, what I read was that he said the words "from prescription" a few times.
I know you hate the man. That much is clear. But set that aside and look at what happened from an objective place. Those people did what they did from a place of fear. It is sad, but that's what it is.

There are "lunatics" out there, people who are made deranged by the moon or some other "totem" such as a planetary body. These people are foolish even if they do not have some disorder like ADHD, OCD, Depression, Schizophrenia, etc...they are just Foolish.
Yet it is important to provide correct information on any channel that people believe has authority. This is because we are talking a virus that has a R naught / R0 of at least 3. That means if you have 1 person, over 10 generations.

The common flu has a R0 of about 1.3 to 1.4 that means if people are sick and they spread it over 10 generations where person A infects person B, infects person C, about 14 people get sick. If the virus has a R0 of 3 that is 59,000 people will get sick.

I bring up the R0 numbers for arguing over the word "MADE" misses the point.
Thus it is extremely important to provide correct medical information for the actions of the stupid foolish people will always rebound on everyone else. My choices are not just my own, and I can be literally perfect and still get this virus because my choices are not just my own.
We need to hold our leaders to a higher standard for 1/5th of the people who get this virus need Hospitalization. The survival rate of those Hospitalized are dependent on the resources of the Hospital with different death rates depending on if they have enough doctors, medicines, and critical medical supplies.
Furthermore people will get lung damage and other damage even if they do survive this virus. Once again this is not a fixed percent for it depends on resources, you can forever have permanent lung damage due to this virus, reducing your quality of life for YEARS.
Furthermore other people need hospitals for other diseases and disorders, and other quality of life improvements by surgery. My last surviving Grandmother is 88 and has Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer as a of few months ago and is now in Remission. Would she still be alive if they could not treat her for there was not enough Hospital Beds due to this virus? How about the people who need Hip Replacements, so on and so on.
Our actions are not just about ourselves, it affects others for we are social creatures and we use resources that are both Excludable and Rivalrous. These death and injury rates are thus not fixed, these infection rates are thus not fixed, for how we choose to do our behavior changes EVERYTHING.
