Here's my pitch: The Magicians is like Harry Potter but with lots of wine and more adult themes, meets a fucked up Narnia.
The protagonist felt like a real teen just like I used to be, being idiotically jealous and petulant at times, but every now and then taking their head out of their ass. Sometimes he is a jerk in ways that resonated with me and made me remember bad times when I was just like that. I get that kind of vibe from watching The Affair, if you've ever seen it. It's very human.
