So you were furious when Hugh Jackman was cast as Wolverine? Roland00 Send a noteboard - 21/06/2019 06:33:16 PM

Hugh Jackman height 6′ 2″ or 6' 3" depending on sources.

Wolverine Comics height 5' 3".

That was kind of a big deal Wolverine being 6 inches shorter than the median / middle average man in comics.

Here was a man who was shorter than 95%+ of men. Yeah Wolverine is shorter than you, but even without his super-strength and claws he will clobber most non mutants in a fight with his 195lb muscle frame on 5'3" (300 lbs with his metal skeleton.) Punching him is like punching a tank, and then the short gun will run you over and beat the shit out of you in a bar fight even though he is so small.

And if you really pissed him off his claws come out

Yeah some fans were very scared when they heard Wolverine was cast as Hugh Jackman 20 years ago. I was glad he gave a superb performance even though he is a foot too tall.

Adaptations are weird things after all.

Is her height a particularly important trait? *NM* - 21/06/2019 12:31:58 PM 225 Views
Only if it signifies that the show will be cast with no consideration for descriptions. *NM* - 21/06/2019 01:57:09 PM 235 Views

Height is not always obvious on screen - 21/06/2019 07:44:00 PM 425 Views
I may be wrong, but I recall her physical height being referred to constantly in the books. - 21/06/2019 04:35:40 PM 512 Views

Height's relative, and can be manipulated on screen, if needed... - 21/06/2019 09:46:20 PM 400 Views
I find it ineteresting that they are calling her role the lead role - 24/06/2019 02:41:40 PM 435 Views
Remove the PoV structure of the books, and she is the lead in Eye of the World. *NM* - 24/06/2019 05:08:44 PM 203 Views
I guess that depends on how you define lead - 25/06/2019 02:21:02 PM 425 Views
