One where something, anything, matters - Edit 1

Before modification by Tweak at 15/05/2019 01:49:02 PM

I'm still holding my breath that some twist or event is coming to make more than half the storylines matter but I'm starting to really lose confidence.

As it currently stands it seems as though almost every event north of the wall was entirely pointless.

Bran becoming the 3ER? Hasn't contributed much to the story except giving the Night King someone to target. Meera? Hodor? Coldhands? CotF? Pointless. Pointless. Pointless. Pointless.

Night King? Army of the Dead? The real War? Pointless, undone by a single knife stab in the dark by rolls random character generator Arya. At this point it seems the entire point of everything that happened North of the Wall served the purpose of killing 1 Dragon and "equalizing" Dany's army to Cersei's. If that was the point of all that, why not just give her 2 to start? Or have Euron snipe 2 of them magically on the way to King's Landing? Why not just make her army the same size to start?

Brienne? Sansa? The Wildlings? Mellisandre? The Prince that was Promised? Numerous other prophecies?

Maybe just maybe the final episode will bring everything full circle and have it all mean something and make sense.

Or maybe not, maybe that IS the point, that life is meaningless, not everything makes, not everything has to.

"If you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention."
