When you come down and look back objectively I think you'll change your mind. This episode was when I realized this show has fully shed its book roots where the good guy doesn't always win, stupid choices bite you in the ass, hard and main characters can die out of nowhere. Its fully transitioned into a TV show, which makes sense since they've blown past GRRM's work and its TV Writers that are finishing the story. This episode was super dark and hard to follow (maybe that was the point?) but was also so full of poor choices from a strategic point of view that only server to look cool (the Dothraki charging in solo with flaming swords only to watch then go out one by one)
There is a scene near the end of the episode after the NK dies where all the zombies drop dead and the only survivors are named characters.
Respectfully I would argue that it wasn't even the greatest battle in Cinema that released that weekend. Without going into spoilers the Avengers Endgame final battle blows this out of the water.
