The real reason they hate solar and wind, is that it means the "hippies" may be right for the hippies were advocating for those things 4 decades ago.

Now people who are "not hippies" admit Global Warming is real but they still hate "solar and wind" for it was a "symbol, a sacred cow" they associate with those dirty vile hippies.

By advocating for Nuclear they can say they are against the Hippies and they can have the "emotional pride" saying they were right all the time.

My point here is people use symbols and passions all the time and it is not limited to one side. 98% of the people who are talking about the economics of solar, wind, nuclear, do not know the numbers and instead they are just advocating for what they think is the best symbols for their goals.

98% of the people are not engineers, or accounts, and do not have the "specialized" knowledge which will actually be needed to solve the problem, yet these 98% of the people are convinced that there side is right and their side is just.
