Franklin is also the worst. He is the Jar Jar Binks of this movie

I kept waiting for a great moment of character development that never happened.

Are we supposed to believe the one tyrannosaurus and the one raptor we see escape are going to create a wild population that menaces the world?

I have the same problem with the premise. Just because an animal is big, strong and top of the food chain does not mean it is guaranteed to survive. If anything it makes it less likely. Dinosaurs were adapted to a world that had very different climate, atmosphere, flora, fauna and microorganisms to our own, living species struggle to survive as it is, and tiny changes in their environment can make it unviable. There's no way dinosaurs should be surviving - especially not the big predators. Also: humans. We thoroughly and efficiently exterminated our natural predators in nearly all the environments our species has ever lived in, and that was long before we had missiles and submachine guns. If it comes down to it I'm 100% betting on the humans.

We are, by now, clearly supposed to view these soldiers as having shown their true, evil, colors, except everything they have done to this point has been perfectly reasonable!

Not really. Drawing a weapon when your supposed allies have just attacked your friend is not unreasonble. The soldiers went off-plan in trying to capture the raptor and put themselves in significant danger from a vicious and unpredictable animal. What was the point of bringing the raptor whisperer if they weren't going to listen to him?

In general it was about what I expected. I was disappointed but not surprised at the two-dimensional villany of all the humans except Our Heroes. Liked that Claire let the dinosaurs die, and the kid set them free. Too much attempting to invoke nostalgia from previous films and not enough originality.
