That would be more convincing if you said it in a case where he was right.

View original postThe reality is that his position hasn't changed, the situation did. The idea that we made great concessions to North Korea with this deal is ludicrous. Obama gave away the farm for very little from Iran and the media want to give him yet another Nobel Prize (to go with the one he got for being black) and what has Trump given up? The suspension of a dog and pony show and a photo op.
Oh really? What, pray tell, changed so much about the situation as to justify as radical a change in position as that? 'Obama gave away the farm for very little from Iran' - that's nonsense and you know it. And as for what Trump has given up, I feel like a broken record but I guess I can't expect people to read all my posts in the thread before replying, so fine: it's not about what he gave up cost America, it's about how much it was worth to North Korea.
View original postThe reason that Trump's approval ratings are creeping up is that despite all the media pearl clutching about the proper way to do things the sky isn't falling and he is actually getting things done where traditional methods failed. I don't like Trump and doubt I ever will but attacking him for breaking the mold is a loser strategy and explain why Trump is more trusted than the media. The left has created these fairy tales about why Trump won but they are too invested in their personal word views to accept the simple reality that people are tired of status quo and elected him to do just that. Same reason why Bernie almost beat Hillary and so many of his supporters refused to get behind her.
The reason that Trump's approval ratings are creeping up is that constant outrage is exhausting and people just want to get over it and move on. And by 'people' I certainly also mean me. But he keeps being irresponsible, moronic, flighty, egomaniac and generally insufferable, so moving on just means caving in and dramatically reducing your standards. Sorry, not gonna do that. That the sky isn't falling, sure, but still he's leaving America and the world worse off than he found them. He hasn't faced much in the way of serious challenges, and failed to impress at any of the lesser challenges that I've seen.
View original postPeople want change and they are tried of the same BS. The media has spent to much time and energy selling that BS and building their own little siloes of ditto heads to be part of the mold breaking. They thought Obama was breaking the mold because he had darker skin then previous presidents which is yet another example of their blinders. At some point they will have to accept he is winning and change track or they will fade away.
Sure, Trump is winning inside the Republican party, since primary after primary shows that most Republicans who rate principles or independence of thought over blind loyalty to a moronic leader will get punished for it. And since many Democrats do seem to overestimate how far left the average American voter is willing to follow them, I guess many of the Republican voters or independents who haven't drunk the kool-aid will still reluctantly keep voting for Trump and his lackeys in general elections. But call me an optimist, I don't think Trump voters will let themselves be taken for fools forever.
So. Trump and the little rocket man.

The point is, in a negotiation, it's about what things are worth to the other side - not to you.

As I said to Cannoli - it's not about what it costs the US, but about what it's worth to North Korea
