I've been against the FISA warrant procedure for years now, so it would be hypocritical of me to support the procedure in this particular instance. Similarly, people who support FISA warrants in general are acting foolishly by pretending that this was anything other than business as usual in a FISA court.
But the last two weeks of "release the memo" is reminding me way too much of a historical event long in the past but to me feels very relevant today.
"The State Department is infested with communists. I have here in my hand a list of 205—a list of names that were made known to the Secretary of State as being members of the Communist Party and who nevertheless are still working and shaping policy in the State Department.
