It says little of Flynn that it never occurred to him that US intelligence just MIGHT be tapping the Russian Ambassadors phone; even Kushner had enough snap to realize he needed to setup a "back channel" to Moscow off the coast of Africa, and he was just another Wall St. junk bond king, not a general officer in the US military who had spent most of his career planning against the possibility of total war against Russia.

Giving the DOJ the power to tap the phone of the people who would be speaking to their bosses political rival during an election should have required extraordinary circumstance which does not seem to be the case here. The judge needs to answer some pointed questions.
