First off.....broad brushstroke much? Way to paint a whole party by an individual's actions.
yes, the whole party is responsible given how many republicans have said child molestation is not a deal breaker for them. sorry if this includes you....
Secondly....was this candidate convicted anywhere? I didn't see that on the news.
with five women coming forward, i'm inclined to believe the victims. did any Catholic priests get convicted for the entire Church to be painted with the broad brush of condoning and excusing pedophilia? seems to me it took years of accusations before anyone took such charges seriously, and only decades after the original accusations were made did anyone actually get convicted for their role in molesting children.
the same thing is going on today in alabama. you will not get the proof you're looking for, but with five different women who did not know each other all having similar stories from their teenage years it sure seems like a whole lot of coincidence that can't be easily explained away and should not be discarded.

why now? because women are finally being believed about these things now. women are holding men accountable, and men are paying for their illegal behavior now. why not 30+ years ago when they had the chance? given that today, in 2017, you are still questioning whether or not women are telling the truth, what chance did they have in the 1980s? the statute of limitations has run out on every single case by now, because alabama only has a three year statute on such charges.
some of these women are solid republican voters for their entire lives by their own admission, so political vendettas would seem to be off the table. perhaps they know what happened then was wrong -- which is why some of them told their parents or friends at the time. (this was all in the original article about this case, by the way) perhaps they are coming forward now because they have nothing left to lose by coming forward, and know that they will finally be believed.
regardless, moore's campaign has admitted to knowing some of these women when they were as young as 16. yet too many prominent state republicans (and some national right wing "thinkers" like dinesh d'souza) have all said they don't care if these charges are true, they are going to vote for him anyway. if this is what it takes for republicans to win elections -- voting for a potential pedophile because he's got that magic "R" after his name -- then the entire party is to blame for the reason it has come to this. you've said you have one single issue that drives you to vote the way you do. if you think a child predator represents your views, by all means vote your single issue. but don't think it absolves you from guilt if you vote for such a candidate just because you only cared about one issue.
