I agree with this comment as edited, except that they aren't being taught that race is the problem. They are being taught that race is a non-negligible factor in how we've taught since our systems formed. It's not "special effort" to check that you're giving the "historically underserved" a similar chance. Seriously, think about what you've said there.

Sorry but bringing up the uncertainties of theoretical math is irrelevant since that isn't really taught even at the graduate level in anything but a pure math degree. The math taught at the high school doesn't even come close. Her assertion that math is seen as the ultimate indicator of intelligence is grossly overstated and simplistic. Yes people who excel at math are considered intelligent but so are people who excel law or medicine or even writing. It is true there is not a great deal of respect for the social sciences but that is easily justified by the simple fact that so few of them deserve it.
She's talking primarily about teaching systems for mathematics, not about pure math itself. Or so it seems from what I can read from her.

Race/culture/ESL is already a factor in that. If you don't look at it with regular old glasses that actually see stuff, you're risking actively keeping someone down. Do you not think that since our teaching systems have been aimed at whites until recently, they might possibly be skewed? Until you explain to me how you're sure it's not, we're going to get nowhere.
