It's for him saying what he is thinking and feeling. I am finding more value in that as I get older.
Here's a pop-culture reference some of you may catch. Do you remember the episode in Buffy the Vampire Slayer when Buffy gets some demon blood on her and it makes her telepathic? She is unable to control her new power, and it is starting to make her go crazy, because she is hearing the thoughts of what everyone is saying, and then they are saying something totally different.
Minus the vampires in her life (who she can't hear), Cordelia is the only one that's half way tolerable to her. And this is because Cordelia says exactly what she is thinking. In the show (and also in real life), it comes across as egotistical and not very tactful.
So now we see in the political arena a man who says what he is thinking. I find that refreshing.
