we live in Katy, and have 2 houses on our property, one of them got over 2 feet inside, but the one my family lives in was spared thankfully. The water was about a foot away from coming in, but when they opened the flood gates in the city it really helped the water go down. My family was trapped on the property for a few days, and when they could finally make it to the road, the entire road was lined with cars abandoned in the ditches, all completely covered in water

It's not near as bad as many have suffered, and we're super grateful to actually have a dry place to live, even with the damage done to the other house. We hope to tear out the carpet and sheet rock and offer it as a home to someone who was less fortunate. Many of my high school friends had everything they owned ruined
So we got a little rain in Texas this week

Glad you're okay. Nerves were definitely frayed here. Last year is still fresh in people's minds.

Incredibly cheap and quick to build. Wood, unlike stone, quite literally grows on trees.
