Blah blah blah and now I am showing off like an asshole
Some of my word choice I used for you in English (earlier) I used specifically for its religious meanings, though most people will not get the religious meanings.
I will let Tom or even worse ...shudders...Joel explain this to you. And I think Jeordam is very familiar with this but for other reasons. (Tom being the Greek scholar, Joel for his interest in religion, and Jeordam for his interest in religion)
But if you are wanting to nerd out look up these words
All of these words are related and share many of the same language roots but slight changes in how you say the vowels and which vowels you use but also adding prefixes and suffixes modify these words and there is a circular relationship with all of these words.
The numbers are references to Strong's Greek Numbering system and this is Koine Greek which is 300 BC to 300 AD. Lots of stuff still apply to modern greek so Tom can SCHOOL me x1000 on what these words mean.

5486 charisma χάρισμα a gift of grace, a free gift a gift of grace, an undeserved favor.

5487 charitoó χαριτόω to make graceful, endow with grace I favor, bestow freely on

All of these words are references to the transition of gifts. Aka I give you A and you take A or perhaps you take B from the exchange. These words are with religious significance for what we really need is not necessarily what we think we want. I am still agnostic / atheist but these themes are common to pretty much all religions but the words in Greek / English has musical significance to me.
Many of the words we use in day to day use have roots in the words I gave you earlier but specifically Charis. For example eucharist means thanksgiving in greek. It is a modification of the word charis, which means to give, and to give something sacred (not of yourself normally, aka part of your shadow and you did not realize you needed it until it is given to you.) Charis also means a graditude where I thank the gift, and it also means you have done me a kindness.
Charisma originally meant a gift of grace. But a 2nd meaning originated over time where people who are just so charismatic are showering us with blessings, and then over time charisma means someone with a magnetic personality. I will let wikipedia explain the 2nd meaning and how it is an invention of the last 120 years with roughly 1892 the first few uses of this version has something to do with a German philosopher.

Charity is another word derived from Charis. And I am dropping this subject for I am not going to waste time looking up all the other words derived from Charis and its variants I gave above

Note Mookie I am not this smart. I am really a dumb boy. (I can imagine Tom hating the bad grammar of the last sentence. Also I am 31 yet sometimes still feel a boy) But I learn the knowledge and wisdom of people who are smarter than me and I am slowly integrate it into myself and being a better version of myself. Aka the comment aero controls made in the last 2 weeks about me and cookies with the Ship of Theseus. And so on.
------
What I am saying Mookie is you are a treasure for me, even though we do not know each other, and part of your wisdom is not all this book smarts but all the practical stuff you bring and honestly this is far more useful to me PERSONALLY than all this book learning.
So carry on Mookie. And you are a smart old man even if you do not realize it. (I am not sure if you realize it or not.)
