My point is that the concept of "gender" is purely grammatical, and its expansion is used to create a notion that doesn't exist. It would be the same as, for example, expanding "personalty" to describe whether someone identifies as a first, second or third person. "Bob Dole rejects your cis-personalty," Dole replied. Of course the reason that this non-existent distinction is made with respect to gender is to camouflage the fact that it is being used to deny a biological fact.
Can you honestly explain why this is different than demanding litter boxes in bathrooms for people who self-identify as cats? Will women who try to conceal their age legitimately be able to get driver's licenses changed if they self-identify as being younger? What exactly are you hanging your hat on here?
