Did you just write me a response, add a billion extra words, and tell me not to read them?

My goal is to let you know there is an answer, that there is complicated stuff out there in the world, but there are people who also understand this complicated stuff. The real important stuff was the stuff I bolded. I thought that was obvious. That is the stuff you need to remember, and I made a point you can forget most of the stuff I wrote.

The real answer is not to memorize the complicated stuff, but just to trust in me (or other people) and not to worry too much about this stuff, and amazingly the simple answer instead of going into super research mode is probably the smarter answer.

Why does a magician do all this misdirection and pompous showing off before he or she does the magic trick. Even if he show how the magic trick is done at the end like Penn and Teller. Because we as viewers of the magician feel we need this type of ceremony in order to feel like we made the right decision, that we understand it all, that we have a sense of wonder yet not feeling overwhelmed.

Aka this

Because part of magic is getting your attention, controlling your attention, controlling how you feel, making you feel united with the rest of the audience.

But what if I were to tell you the real magic is not this sense of there must be one best answer, or there must be one right answer, but you now have the freedom to choose and no matter the choice (as long as you obey some simple rules) you are given an opportunity to upgrade, to choose no wrong choice but to have a little present at the end of this.

And that may be a $200 phone (whatever that is in your UK pounds, Mrs. Brexit ) or a $400 phone, or a $600 phone, or an $800 phone. And if you only get a $200 phone you have lots of other good choices to spend the rest of the money on something else.

Would it still be magic if we were playing Let's Make a deal where there are 3 doors, and instead of the doors being "hidden" you get to see the 3 basket of choices and what each deal is, for the doors are window screen doors and you know what is behind them? By turning hard reality into a fun game, it can relieve some of the stress you are feeling right now nossy.
