Do you have any idea how we "measure" acidity level from millions of years ago? random thoughts Send a noteboard - 08/06/2017 08:15:50 PM

Or do you just read the article think "science rocks" and accept? We can measure it very accurately now but I keep seeing that is the last two hundred years is fastest change in 300 million years and sorry but that "fact" is BS. It isn't just a question of accuracy, and is really just guesses but people with a desired outcome based on looking at old sea shells, but a question of resolution. Any measure of ocean acidity form 10 of millions of years ago is going to have time accuracy in the hundreds of thousands of years. If you can differentiate the time of measurement to less than 100 thousand years (and that is generous) how do compare that to changes taking place of two hundred years?

Here is a link to the actual measured changes, measures before this are not considered accurate. They do show a drift and it is cause for concern but ? FASTEST CHANGE IN 300 MILLION YEARS !!!!
