Quickpoll for 7th April 2011
submitted by Vivien
Ideally, how often would you like to have a quickpoll?
Daily (57.86% - 81 votes)
Every 3 days (25.71% - 36 votes)
Twice a week (3.57% - 5 votes)
Weekly (2.86% - 4 votes)
2 over week days, one for weekend (2.14% - 3 votes)
I don't care (7.86% - 11 votes)
Daily
FIRST AGAIN for the 3rd time in a row. Hope the streak continues!
wait, nvm, looks like I skipped a day.
oh well, FIRST AGAIN for the 2nd time!
I believe it is called a "Daily Quickpoll" for a reason... *NM*
The name can be changed ;P
An option I have now thought of which might work best is generally having a new poll every day but keeping particularly interesting ones/those which generate most responses up for a bit longer. There'd need to be a bit of jiggery pokery behind the scenes for it to work of course.
Sorry if you are confused by my jargon

Every two or three days sounds about right
Perhaps make it stay longer based on avolume of votes/ comments?
Or stay longer if there isn't one to replace it.
And of course drop the "Daily" bit from the name

yeah
what zeeb and snoop said.
I agree
with zeeb and snoop, especially in cases of there being no available new quickpoll. it's better to have an old-ish one than a apology message.
I think it gives an idea on how many people visit *NM*
Every two or three days sound great to me. *NM*
I think a daily poll is fine, and encourages people to visit daily.
Anything that encourages daily visits strikes me as a good idea, because the more people visit the more likely they are to contribute, and while Ben and his crew can do many things to make the site offer more and be more appealing, it's ultimately up to the members to sustain it.
That said, putting in a counter that extends the life of a quick poll by one day for every, say, 50 votes, seems reasonable as well.
