Just today I received the degree certificate confirming I have been awarded a "Master of Education" for the secondary school and ages 16-19. My loyal subjects? History and social studies.
Excuse me if I can't write properly, but I'm pretty exalted over this. It has taken a long time and should have been done with a long time ago, had I not become sick for a period.
I began my five year studies in 2002 and studying went fine for 4,5 years. I had one final thesis left to write and I had half of it written down when I was struck by a heavy depression. The doctor confirmed I have a Bipolar II disorder, throwing me into longer periods of heavy depression followed by shorter periods of hypomania in a rapid cycling.
Well, well. 2.5 years later my doctor finally let me on a medicine that helped in a way I needed to be able to start studying again. So, when I got better, I got back to reading all the books needed to finish my thesis and all in all, two months later I was done. Boy, was I rusty at studying or what?
The hard work has finally paid off and I sit here today with the diploma confirming I now am a teacher.
I feel much better now.
