Get Dragon Age: Origins, Fallout 3 GOTY, and Oblivion GOTY. All three are RPGs, with Dragon Age being a more standard RPG while the other two have giant open worlds and welcome exploring and not pursuing the main quest, and instead doing the side missions and just enjoying the world.
And if you got Modern Warfare 2, then you should consider getting Halo ODST.
Other than that, I enjoyed Star Ocean: The Last Hope, which is an action RPG, and then there's the original Assassins Creed. Maybe the Orange Box for another FPS game, plus an excellent puzzle game. I'm probably forgetting some things, but those are the ones I can come up with.

The Orange Box is a great deal being 5 games for the price of one, even if three of the games are Half Life 2 and it's 2 subsequent episodes. Portal from TOB is a blast to play though.
The Gears of War games are fun to play as is Army of Two. Bioshock, if you haven't played it yet is a great gaming experience and the second one is due out on the 9th of Feb. The Mass Effects are both great games as well. It's an RPG, but plays like a 3rd person action in most respects.
Castle: This is so weird. I dressed up as him for Halloween.
Beckett: Me too.

Brian's thread just below this one has a lot of good suggestions. Take a look in there. *NM*
