There is one point where you mention that you expect Cataclysm to take longer, due to the resources being spent on Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2. However, Blizzard is an ENORMOUS company, and still growing. They have at least four different development teams - one working on Starcraft 2, one on Diablo 3, one on the unannounced "next-gen" MMO, and at least one working on Wow. I say at least one because I'm not sure whether one team works on the expansions an the patches at the same time, two teams, or if there is some cross-over there.

These development teams are not entirely self-contained - some high-level devs move between them - but for the most part they each have their own pool of resources and manpower.

And that's just the ones I know about off the top of my head; it's very possible that there is a second unannounced game in development as well.

Also possible, although I'm expecting it to come a tad bit faster than that; two more years is a bit of a stretch, so I'd guess it'll be more like Spring 2011 or Christmas 2010.


No. It'll be out spring 2011, I'd guess. There'll be some gaps between the Starcraft campaigns, but not year and a half ones.


Much sooner than that. Summer 2012 is three years away; Cataclysm will be here in a year and a half, tops. Maybe two years, but that would shock me, frankly.


I'd guess this'll be around Christmas 2011.



I'd say this is a good estimate.



The patch with Arthas is two Wow patches away, we should be seeing it by the end of this year, or very early next year.


As for the end of Wow content - they'll have to stop eventually, if only to make room for their unannounced "Next-gen" mmo, but I think we're going to see at least two more expansions after Cataclysm. Summer 2014 might actually be a good estimate.
