Honestly, I think half of it was that it blew up sooo much in terms of everybody playing it. That always happens to me where I like playing the games that not many people have heard of or played. Oblivion wasn't ridiculously widely spread but as soon as Skyrim hit, it took off.

And the other half was that the feel was....wrong. I could dungeon crawl for days on end in Oblivion but in Skyrim is just got too boring after a while. I put in 50 hours and after that, I was just done. I didn't even finish the main quest, although I did finish all the side quests.
