After GTA IV, I seriously didn't think that I'd enjoy the series again. It had changed so dramatically in a way I didn't like (gritty realism as opposed to comic violence) it received immense acclaim. It's why I loved Saints Row so much more, in fact. But in GTA V, Rockstar took a step back and, while keeping a lot of aspects from GTA IV, they also moved toward some Red Dead Redemption style shooting and MUCH better driving. No longer do I feel like they're actually trying to make the game real life, what with the bowling and the dating. Cop chases are fun again and I can easily waste hours just driving through the country side, looking for trains to crash into or a dump truck to steal and plow through traffic with.
Rockstar has taken the best aspects from GTA IV and returned somewhat to the style from GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas.
Short story shorter, I spent all afternoon yesterday playing this game when I should have been studying. I love and hate my roommate for picking this up.
CS/CpE. Yay engineering!
