Tastes have changed since then, so a few questions Jragghen Send a noteboard - 29/09/2009 06:01:27 PM
I'm wiping off the dust of mine, I bought it when I was 14, and I am now... very old... I could only afford 3 games for it. They where of course played, and played until I could do them blindfolded. Now the games costs little on ebay, so I am going to expand my collection...a little late, but who's counting years? ;)

Anyone got recommendations for me? I am totally clueless on which of those games became classics.

What sort of games do you like genre-wise? How patient are you in terms of overcoming difficulty which would be considered obscene by the modern gamer?

Also, just to get them out of the way since they're recommendations regardless:

Super Mario Bros 1-3
Mega Man 2 and 3 (and the rest if it's your thing, but those are the best two)
Kirby's Adventure
Zelda I
Crystalis
River City Ransom (I've never actually played this one, I'm just beating the inevitable recommendation to the punch)
Tetris
Startropics/Startropics II
Punch-Out
Metroid
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II
Castlevania III (once more, never played, but heard great things and I like the series. This one's supposedly the best NES one)
Bubble Bobble
Final Fantasy (if it's your thing)

In the "hard as balls, but still fun" category:
Castlevania/Castlevania II
A Boy and his Blob
Zelda II
Ninja Gaiden I/II
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Battletoads
Contra
