I'm annoyed about the dichotomy between stealth and combat

Basically, there is a LOT of cool stuff you can do in combat- conjure swarms of rats, freeze time, throw gusts of wind, assassinate, slide into their knees, blocking, a bunch of gadgets like traps, grenades, and trick crossbow bolts, and more.
But the game strongly encourages you to sneak around and be nonlethal. I mean, why would you sneak up behind someone and assasinate them, when you could sneak up behind them and knock them out in almost the exact same amount of time?
It's irritating because I LIKE being stealthy, I like the interesting non-lethal ways to take out a target, but I hate that there are all these cool lethal techniques I can't use if I want to get the "good" ending."

I amuse myself.
Dishonored: aw yee.

When I get a computer capable of handling today's games, I'll make sure to check it out.
