But what you describe could be accomplished in quite a feasible way. Just making it exclusive to Linux for a limited time, like Bethesda did with Dawnguard on the 360. Release it for Linux and have it exclusive for a month or so, then release it on other platforms. It won't alienate anyone and they'll still make all the money they would anyway, and they get their point across as well. But like I said, it isn't going to happen.
