Didn't see a thread on this game. I just started playing it about a week ago, and it is EXCELLENT. It's rare these days to find a game as punishing and relentless as Dark Souls. I honestly have to say it is one of the most difficult games I have ever played, and I love it. The thing about Dark Souls is that there's no save function. The game automatically saves your progress constantly. Which means that whenever I die I can't just curse and hit quickload and go back to what I was doing a few seconds before. Interestingly it gives the game a sense of gravity that otherwise wouldn't be there. But there's much more to this game than just being difficult, the combat is probably the game's strongest suite, requiring a delicate balance of strategy, reflex, and timing. The collision and hit detection is excellent, unlike say Skyrim where if your sword misses an enemy by a foot you still make contact. I don't know why, but this really impressed me when I started playing the game, haha. But I highly recommend Dark Souls. If you are a very casual gamer or fairly impatient, then you may have a rough time with this game. You'll have a hard time with this game regardless.... like it says on the back of the game case: "prepare to die"
