Arkham Asylum/City. AA is probably cheap now, and AC is just fantastic. They're more or less self contained- you don't need to have played Asylum to play City.
The Infamous games are pretty fun, especially now that they're discounted.
If you have a PC, get the Orange Box for that. If you don't, get the Orange Box for PS3- it's honestly the best bang for your buck you can get. (Half Life 2, Episodes 1 and 2, TF2, Portal!)
Red Dead Redemption is very well done, and a lot of fun.
Metal Gear Solid 4! A very weird, very fun game.
The Assassin's Creed games. AC1 was good, AC2 was better, and AC:Brotherhood really polished everything up.
Bioshock is excellent, if you haven't played it.
You might want to check out Heavy Rain- it's got a weird, cinematic detective/SAW thing going on.
And while I personally wasn't a huge fan of GTA4, I know others are.
