Honestly, the world of Azeroth has felt much smaller to me ever since WoW was released.
Then again, I could say the same for Warcraft 3 - Azeroth felt smaller compared to Warcraft 2, which I still think had the best world of the lot of them.
Note, of course, that when I say 'Azeroth' I refer to the world that the Warcraft series takes place in. Not the continent or the nation(not that WoW bothers with the concept of nations anymore).
