you need to buy one of those platforms with a cooling fan built in. couple of questions:

It's not overheating now that I've cleaned the fan with the air.

1. are you playing while plugged in? if so, don't. its a quick way of spoiling your battery.

Yes. My laptop stays plugged in all the time. The user manual specifically stated that it's not a battery that is better to use up and recharge. I rarely let it die.

2. how new is your laptop? wow doesn't require that much processing power but it still has a minimum requirement. maybe you need to lower the graphic settings.

It's about two years old now. I looked at www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ and it checks out perfectly for the game.

3. are you sure you're only playing for 30mins? lol. wow is a timesink. 'specially if you grind and raid.

Perfectly sure. Sitting in front of the TV and keeping an eye on what my wife is watching helps me judge the time.
Kirk: Spock, you want to know something? Everybody’s human.
Spock: I find that remark…insulting.

Almost certainly something clogging the fan. Get some compressed air and clean it out. *NM* - 05/05/2011 05:45:49 AM 230 Views
That's what I'd recommend as a first step. - 05/05/2011 09:34:10 PM 488 Views
