Computer is overheating while playing WoW. j-whitt987 Send a noteboard - 05/05/2011 03:58:40 AM
This is like the fifth or sixth time in two days and I'm not sure why it's happening all of a sudden. I've played games on this laptop before and never had any problems. Even after I started with WoW a few days ago it was fine for about three or four hours, but the last couple of days it starts overheating at about the thirty minute mark and shuts down. I moved from my couch with the laptop on my lap and sat at the kitchen table tonight to try and prevent it from happening again, but that didn't help any. I know it's WoW that's doing it because everything is fine until the game is started. Any ideas how to fix this problem?

I have no idea about anything computer related like GPUs or video cards so I don't know how that affects my gameplay experience.
Kirk: Spock, you want to know something? Everybody’s human.
Spock: I find that remark…insulting.

Almost certainly something clogging the fan. Get some compressed air and clean it out. *NM* - 05/05/2011 05:45:49 AM 230 Views
That's what I'd recommend as a first step. - 05/05/2011 09:34:10 PM 488 Views
I suppose I'll be picking up a can of compressed air after my English Final today. - 05/05/2011 03:07:23 PM 507 Views
