Sounds good. Keep in mind that buying a low-end laptop doesn't mean you can't game on the go.

You just can't play the latest games on the go. There's a lot of stuff from a generation or two back that will work just fine on low-end laptop hardware. Pretty much anything from GoodOldGames will work, and there are a lot of great titles there.
Anyway, I understand what you're saying, and your decision will depend on your lifestyle. Just keep in mind that you can buy two machines and play games on HIGHER settings for LESS than the cost of a single, soon-to-be-obsolete gaming laptop. The only downside is that you'd have to fire up Baldur's Gate or Starcraft while in class, instead of Skyrim or whatever.
Good luck.

Which is fair enough, I just think it's an unusual viewpoint.

I'm special. I effectively tank with a touch pad.

Ah, you're one of THOSE tanks. On behalf of WoW players everywhere, I hate you.

Pretty sure that consistent touch pad use would give me carpal tunnel. *NM*

Definitely worth mentioning, but there's always something better just a couple months down the road. *NM*
